There are theories that Pickleball got its name from one of the inventors, naming the game after the “pickle boat” in crew races. In a pickle boat race, the crew is made up of the rowers who didn’t qualify for other boats, essentially the “leftover” rowers to compete for a more casual race.

The other theory is that the sport’s inventors named it after their pup, “Pickles,” who loved to chase the ball around the court! 🐾 Now that’s what we call “pawsome” (apologies in advance for the puns😉)!
